Hardness: Jadeite has a hardness of 7. Nephrite Jade has a hardness of 6.5.

Healing ability: The Chinese credit Jade with clarity,  Jade is said to stimulate kidney function and has been used as a cure for kidney stones for centuries. Jade is also said to be beneficial to the heart, the nervous system, and to promote health in the organs that purify blood.

Mystical power: Jade is linked to wisdom, longevity, practicality, tranquility, and serenity based on knowing how to live in harmony with the laws of nature.  Jade is sometimes known as the “Dream Stone” or the “Stone of Fidelity”. Placed under the pillow, it helps with dream work.  It is a stone for strengthening, wisdom, protection and luck.

Deposits: Jadeite is from Myanmar, Japan, and USA (Alaska and California). Nephrite Jade is from Myanmar, Russia, China and USA (Wyoming).
